Manual Therapy

This includes hands-on techniques such as soft tissue work, joint mobilization, manipulations, ASTYM® treatment, neuromuscular re-education, and manual guidance from me.

Therapeutic & Corrective Exercises

Graded exercise program:

This involves a thoughtful and carefully designed strengthening and flexibility program specific for your needs and goals.

Although patients may have the same diagnosis, every individual has their own unique situation, beliefs, abilities, and goals.

For this reason, there are no "cookie-cutter" programs, all programs are tailored to fit.

Home exercise program:

Throughout your treatment, you will be given exercises and reading to be done on your own.

Educating and empowering the patient is one of the most important things a physical therapist can do and this is where the home exercise program comes in.

It is important to remember I'm only with you for a brief period throughout your week, the rest of the time you are on your own. Therefore, it is imperative that you take control of your health and become an active participant in your rehabilitation.

Pain Education

Let's face it. Pain is complex. There are many factors that can influence your pain. Did you do too much too quickly? Have you learned to ignore your pain and cope? Do you have healthy exercise, sleep, hydration, and sleeping habits? Is this your first episode or have you struggled with your pain for a long time? Are you stressed and anxious about your pain?

The answers are different for everyone, but I'm here to LISTEN to you and hear YOUR story. It's worth our time to pull the yarn and unravel the complexity of the language that our bodies tell us through pictures, stories, and metaphors.

This type of conversation has been shown to decrease fear-avoidance, anxiety, and catastrophization of one's painful situation.

Because the majority of people seek out a physical therapist due to pain, this is a vital part of the movement restoration experience.
